Easy Transition from AutoCAD
Vdraft includes several features to help experienced AutoCAD users take advantage of their existing mastery of AutoCAD and be immediately productive with Vdraft.
Command and Terminology Compatibility
- Command compatibility. For example, there's no need for AutoCAD users to learn a new command set. With Vdraft's AutoCAD Keyboard Commands feature, users can just type in AutoCAD commands to have Vdraft execute the equivalent commands or actions.
- Common terminology. In addition, Vdraft uses the terms already familiar to AutoCAD users. Blocks in AutoCAD are blocks in Vdraft. Lines, polylines, layers, and attributes in AutoCAD are just that in Vdraft. In other words, AutoCAD users understand Vdraft's language right away.
Vdraft Documentation for AutoCAD Users
- AutoCAD Help (online). Vdraft's AutoCAD Help is an online quick reference that provides fast access to complete information on the AutoCAD commands supported in Vdraft.
- AutoCAD User's Guide to Vdraft (print). The AutoCAD User's Guide to Vdraft is an appendix to the Vdraft Users guide included with Vdraft. In addition to an overview/comparison of Vdraft and AutoCAD, it provides a parallel tutorial that illustrates the specifics of key drafting techniques and procedures in the two programs.
